https://artxiboa.sansebastianfestival.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/artxiboa_img_33859.jpg6801000Poster of the II Cinematographic Training Week - Following its foundation in 1928, the International Catholic Office for Cinema and Audiovisuals (OCIC) defined its cinematic work through myriad activities including criticism, the publication of film studies and giving awards at various festivals. Its information spreading actions led to the creation of courses and training organised jointly with film festivals and film clubs. One of these is the II Semana de Formación Cinematográfica (II Cinema Training Week) which took place in San Sebastian from 25th April to 5th May 1955, in collaboration with the San Sebastian International Film Festival. From the following year, the initiative would continue to run in conjunction with the recently created Cine Club San Sebastián. The poster for the second edition, designed by the cartoonist, writer and movie director José María González Castrillo, known by his nickname “Chumy Chúmez” is the oldest poster still kept today in the Festival archive.
